TOUCH GIFT FOUNDATION EXPANDS IMPACT, SPONSORS 11 SENIOR COMMUNITIES + ANNOUNCES PUBLIC MOTHER’S DAY CELEBRATION + STRENGTHENING DIGITAL ACCESS FOR SENIORS

Chicago, IL – April 3, 2026 — Touch Gift Foundation, NFP® (TGFTM) is proud to announce the expansion of its annual Mother’s Day initiative, Honoring Her: A Celebration of Care & Comfort, now supporting 11 senior housing communities across Chicago.

This community-centered initiative is designed to uplift and celebrate the legacy, strength, and contributions of senior mothers, grandmothers, and caregivers throughout Auburn Gresham, Chatham, Kenwood, Englewood, and Woodlawn.

Each location will receive personalized gift bag distributions filled with essential care items,

assembled by community volunteers, partners, and youth leaders.

NEW Digital Access Component – Closing the Gap


In 2026, Touch Gift Foundation expands its impact by integrating a Digital Access Initiative in

partnership with Compudopt, addressing the digital divide impacting senior communities.

● 65 devices awarded via lottery

● Winning sites Bethel Terrace, Sangamon Terrace, and Wheeler House

● Wheeler House will also receive a 2-hour digital literacy workshop

Event Details

Honoring Her / A Celebration of Care & Comfort

Host Location: TGF co-LAB-oratory Training Institute, 640 E. 79th Street, Chicago, IL 60619 (Parking Lot)


This public-facing event will feature:

● Groceries & resource distribution

● Community engagement and connection

● A vibrant atmosphere of celebration, dignity, and joy


The 2026 celebration will also serve as a tribute to the lives and legacies of Debra Thompson

and Kijauna Carter, members of the 2025 planning committee whose leadership contributed to serving over 650 seniors and mobilizing a student-led initiative assembling 1,460 United Kits.


“This initiative is about restoring dignity, celebrating resilience, and honoring the
